After five years of saving and scheming, we quit our jobs and sold our house in Denver, CO. This is the story of our journey from Maine where we bought Baby Blue, down the US Atlantic Coast (offshore and ICW), through the Eastern Caribbean islands and back again from July 2014 - July 2016. We then returned to shore to build a tiny house, buy land, and have a baby! We're now raising our young son in Western North Carolina and planning our next big adventure.
Cool to see all the sailing footage and the night watch. Yes clip in to your harness by all means please. Although I do LOVE your own background music, this was nice also. Fun bardering with the fruit guy. Love the turtle!
ReplyDeleteThanks! Maybe we can add in more diy background music in the next one, especially if you would like to help!
DeleteLove your bartering tales! We have a special stash of old bras to barter for produce, though we haven't found the right opportunity to try it yet. http://www.telegraph.co.uk/news/11031033/Couples-week-long-sailing-trip-turns-into-16-year-round-the-world-voyage.html
ReplyDeleteThat is awesome! I have heard that bras can be a hot commodity in some areas. I hope the opportunity to bra-barter presents itself for you! :)
DeleteI found you guys on youtube and then spent the last couple days reading every blog entry. Thanks for all the fun stories, information and your honest portrayal of your adventures from the perspective of new sailors. My wife and I are considering a similar path in a few years and it's empowering to see you guys showing us it can be done, and done well. I'd love to hear more about how you guys are learning and growing as cruisers. Fair winds and following seas...
ReplyDeleteGlad you found us! I'm impressed you read all the blogs! Thanks for reading along and for dropping us a line. I hope we see you out there!
DeleteHoping all is well, lots of weather events down there, not the least of which was a catagory 4 hurricane. anxiously awaiting your next post.

DeleteSuper cool v-log episode Ashley!! Glad Jon saved the Rasta fruit dude! Guess that good karma paid off when you sailed over the volcano! :)
ReplyDeleteOz - from Awaken, Qi, etc
The one-and-only Oz-man!! Sorry we didn't get to see you while we were in Denver. I'm so happy you watched our little video and dropped a line to say hi. Thank you! Hope all is well.
